River Runs 2km a Day Charity Challenge
May 13, 2025
To celebrate the start of our local charity partnership with the Boaz Project, the River Coffee team took on the challenge of 2km every day in April.
The Boaz Project is a friendly, farm-based charity based that gives adults with learning disabilities real work in a supportive environment.
Here’s some of our highlights from the challenge:
On 4 April, we went over to Hill Farm to join some of the members at Boaz in a 2km run in the rolling hills and bluebell woods surrounding their site.
With this being the first ever River Coffee charity fundraiser, we weren’t sure how it was going to go. Determined to make it a success, by the end of week 1 we'd already reached our target in donations. And so, we doubled it!
On 29 April, with 24 hours left of the challenge, we pushed the total up with a circular running route as a team in the stunning countryside around River Coffee HQ.We absolutely love what Boaz do. Not only do we share their values – the importance of productive, meaningful work and relationships - we love their farm-based, hands-on activities which provide opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to participate in real work.
Our individual and team efforts clocked up a total of 394kms with runs, treks and swims being completed across 3 countries (shout out to the team who kept the challenge up on annual leave) raising a total of £502.91 for Boaz.
Thanks to everyone who donated and supported the team throughout April.
We will be popping up at the Boaz Project’s Open Day on Saturday 24 May 1pm – 4pm where we will be serving our signature brews.
With all proceeds taken on the day going to the charity, you can enjoy a quality brew, jump on a tractor ride and pick up a plant in their sale, all whilst supporting the brilliant work they do for adults with learning disabilities. We hope to see you there!
More to come from this active partnership soon.
