Our Local Charity Partner For 2025

Our Local Charity Partner For 2025

We’re thrilled to announce our chosen local charity of the year as the Boaz Project.

The Boaz Project is a friendly, farm-based charity that gives adults with learning disabilities real work in a supportive environment.

Did you know, in England, around only 6% of adults with a learning disability are in paid employment?

At Boaz, members work alongside volunteers and staff growing plants and taking care of the animals, including sheep, donkeys, guinea pigs and a flock of 120 free range egg-laying hens. Activities include crafts, cooking and woodwork.

The 4.5 acre smallholding is located on Hill Farm, three miles north of Winchester.

As a corporate partner, we will be supporting the charity by fundraising and raising awareness for them throughout 2025.Β

Β Here's what our founder, Will, had to say:Β

"Boaz are a local charity just up the road from us. It was fantastic to visit Boaz and see they work they do, providing a supportive working space for members to attend and be involved in hands-on life skills. This especially resonates with me having an older brother with autism who has attended Boaz in the past – in fact our family dog Lola was born at Boaz in 2009.

... As a business, we were looking for a charity partner who shares similar values to us. At Boaz, productivity and valued relationships are core principles which are also at the centre of our work ethos.Β Since day one, we have championed the many hands involved in producing coffee, the hard work and hours that go into it by a diverse, global community. Our foundation was built by fostering and sustaining direct relationships with coffee producers at origin. I’m excited for the River Coffee team to be supporting the Boaz Project.”

To celebrate the start of our local charity partnership with the Boaz Project, we are challenging ourselves to run, trek or swim 2km every day in April and raise money for the brilliant work they do. We'll also be doing a 2km team run with some of the Boaz members on their site at Hill Farm during the month. Follow our progress on Instagram and Facebook.
